Mangalore: A five-day workshop on Yakshagana will be conducted on Manjunatha temple premises at Kadri here from October 9.
Organised by Yaksharadhana Kendra, Urwa; and Kalkura Foundation, the workshop would be open to all, a release said.
Resource persons at the workshop would deal with different aspects of facial make-up, costumes, natya, abhinaya, and interpretation.
Senior artiste Surikumeru K. Govinda Bhat would speak on tala, natya, and abhinaya; Siddakatte Sadashiva Shettigar on facial make up and Sunnambala Vishveshwara Bhat on interpretation.
The workshop would be held between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. till October 13. Professional and amateur artistes, and others interested in Yakshagana could participate. Food would be served to participants who would have to pay nominal fee for participating in the five-day programme, the release said. (Courtesy: The Hindu)
